Good Hope Opens In New Hall School

New Hall School in Chelmsford opened the very first Good Hope café in a school on 18th April 2016. The café is managed by the school under our name of Good Hope, alongside a team of students that serve coffee and food throughout the day.

During the launch day, Barry and Margaret visited the school to speak to students, parents and guests about the work of Jimmy’s charity and the history of the charity and Good Hope in Hither Green, Lewisham.

“The café is a lively hub for social activity and hospitality, and everyone is delighted to be supporting the work of this excellent charity.”

“New Hall School is the first school, nationally, to open a Good Hope café. We are delighted to hear that there is already interest from other schools to open their own Good Hope café,” said Margaret Mizen.

In the presence of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Chelmsford, along with invited guests and students from Year 7, Principal, Katherine Jeffrey, presented Barry and Margaret with a cheque donation to the charity. The school will continue to donate profits from the café to the work of the charity.

“Good Hope New Hall has been a wonderful addition to our community and charity provision. The café is a lively hub for social activity and hospitality, and everyone is delighted to be supporting the work of this excellent charity, which helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and works to promote peace,” said Katherine Jeffrey.
