Good Hope cafés have become great learning environments for young people
Over the past six years, all three of our Good Hope cafés have become great learning environments for young people starting off their work life with work experience, training and employment opportunities. We also partner with Drumbeat School and ASD Services to provide personalised placements for young people with Autism, enabling them to experience the workplace and acquire a range of essential skills.
“I think when it comes to the world of work; certain things will always hold me back. Keeping time, getting organised and coordination can be difficult, along with reading, writing and doing maths. When you first go into the world of work you have everyone watching you and they may not understand, but that’s what I felt was different working here. I felt accepted. Working in the cafés has made me more confident, especially in my speaking.”
