Volunteering For Jimmy is a vital part of our work and we’d love for you to get involved.
Whether you’re into marshaling at events, baking cupcakes in one of our cafés or helping out in our office – we need you!
It doesn’t matter how much time you have – we’ll find something that suits you. You’ll be making a massive difference to our work and helping us to create a world where a young person can go into their local shop and always come back home. To register your interest, please fill out our volunteer form here.
Walking For Jimmy
If you’d like to volunteer at our annual fundraising event on 27th May, which sees supporters walk three routes along the Thames from Richmond to Tower Bridge then please get in touch. You can read more about the event here.
There are a number of ways you can help on the day. We will be looking to fill the following volunteer roles:
Our Route Marshalls help set up and decorate the start line, checkpoints and finish line. You will be responsible for making sure the event looks great, runs smoothly and that every walker safely completes the course.
Mobile Cycle Marshall
Riding along our designated course, you will be responsible for making sure that all our walkers are making it from checkpoint to checkpoint in good time. They may also need a bit of motivation and seeing a mobile marshall in our iconic t-shirts can make all the difference!
Our Checkpoint Marshalls register our walkers at the Start Line and on Checkpoints throughout the route. You will be responsible for making sure all of our walkers are safely checked in along the route and also giving them plenty of encouragement. It’s a long day for our walkers, so we need our team of Marshalls to be cheering them on throughout the walk.
